CAST BIOS

 

STEVE GUTTENBERG (Nick) – Steve Guttenberg was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Massapequa, Long Island.  His feature film credits are both numerous and notable and include “The Boys from Brazil,” “Can’t Stop the Music,” “Diner,” “The Man Who Wasn’t There,” the “Police Academy” franchise, “Cocoon,” “The Bedroom Window,” “Three Men and A Baby,” and “P.S. Your Cat Is Dead,” which he directed, produced, starred in and adapted from the Broadway hit.

 

Guttenberg’s television movies include “Something for Joey,” “To Race the Wind,” “Miracle on Ice,” and “The Day After.”  He is also an accomplished stage actor who created the lead role in the Broadway production of “Prelude To A Kiss,” starred in “The Boys Next Door” in London’s West End, and won acclaim for his performance in the world premiere of “Furthest From the Sun.”

 

A child advocate, Guttenberg has two after-school specials to his credit.  He executive produced the Emmy® nominated “Gangs” and directed “Love Off Limits.”  His interest in the welfare of children inspired him to create Guttenhouse, an apartment complex that accommodates young people transitioning from foster child status to adult responsibilities.  He also spearheaded Sight for Students, a multi-million dollar program that provides glasses for 50,000 underprivileged and visually challenged children.                                                           

Guttenberg is an avid surfer and golfer and a devoted dog owner.

CRYSTAL BERNARD (Beth Marshall) – Crystal Bernard began her career in a Pepsi commercial.  After appearing as a rollerskating hooker in the Garry Marshall film “Young Doctors In Love,” she joined the cast of “Happy Days.”  She has also been a series regular in the hit TV sitcoms “It’s A Living” and “Wings.”

 

In addition to appearing in a number of telefilms including “Without Her Consent,”  “When Will I Be Loved,” “Miracle Child,” “Dying To Be Perfect: The Ellen Hart Pena Story,” and “A Face To Kill For,” Bernard took on the role of Annie Oakley in the Broadway production of “Annie Get Your Gun.”

 

A songwriter since she was 14 years old, Bernard recorded the hit single “Forever Tonight,” a duet with Peter Cetera, which stayed on the pop charts for 26 weeks.

THOMAS CALABRO (Andrew West) – Thomas Calabro starred for seven seasons on “Melrose Place,” directing a number of episodes.  His motion picture for television credits include “Vendetta: Secrets of a Mafia Bride,” “Columbo: No Time To Die,” “Sleep, Baby, Sleep,” “Stolen Innocence” and “L.A. Johns.”

 

On the L.A. stage, Calabro starred in “Gravity Shoes” and directed “Thespians and Troglodytes.”  New York theatre credits include the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of “Wild Blue.”  He also directed “Orphans,” which was performed at various homeless and rehabilitation centers in Manhattan.

 

Calabro appeared in the feature film “Face to Face,” a family comedy written by friend Scott Baio.

ARMIN SHIMERMAN (Ernest) – Armin Shimerman was born and raised in New Jersey.  After graduating with honors from UCLA with a degree in Classical theatre, he started his acting career at San Diego’s prestigious Old Globe Theatre.  From there, he went on to Broadway, winning roles in “Three Penny Opera,” “St. Joan,” “Broadway,” and “I Remember Mama.”

 

Shimerman is remembered by television audiences for his seven-year portrayal of Quark the bartender in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and high school principal Snyder in “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.”  His feature film credits include Woody Allen’s “Stardust Memories.”

 

A four-time published author, Shimerman is a well-known teacher of Elizabethan rhetoric.

DOMINIC SCOTT KAY (Jake) – Dominic Scott Kay had a recurring role in the offbeat sitcom “Oliver Beene” and guest-starred in the series “Power Rangers Wild Force.”  He has three Hallmark Channel Original movies under his belt – “Love’s Enduring Promise,” “Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus” and “Angel in the Family.”  Among his feature film credits are “Minority Report,” “Loverboy” and “Fathers and Sons.”
