At the Mystery Woman bookstore, Samantha Kinsey (Kellie Martin) is packing her photography case with cameras and lenses when Philby (Clarence Williams III), the bookstore manager, appears with a black eye and a scraped face.  He tells Sam that he’s getting re-qualified for his black belt in karate.  Even though he’s not on active duty for his “other” job (which we assume is with a clandestine government agency), he could be called to work at any time.  Sam informs Philby that she and her best friend Cassie Hillman (Nina Siemaszko) are going to a spa.  Samantha will shoot photos for the retreat’s new brochure – and she and Cassie will indulge in a bit of pampering.   more
