Criminology Professor Dr. Jonathan Maxwell (Dick Van Dyke) doesn’t believe that Professor Archer Coe died of a heart attack, so he hires Mike Parker to investigate.  Not only does he discover that the professor was not very well liked, but he was having an affair with Danya, one of his students - a fact known to both Danya’s father and  his widow - in Hallmark’s Original Mystery Movie, MURDER 101 “College Can Be Murder,” premiering Saturday, January 6 (9/8c).

MURDER 101 also stars Barry Van Dyke as Mike Parker.  Guest stars include Alex Hyde-White, Jamie Rose, Molly Hagen, Whip Hubley and Kimberly Quinn.  In addition, two of Dick Van Dyke’s grandchildren, Wes and Taryn appear as students in the movie.

Dr. Jonathan Maxwell is upset by the theft of his bicycle, a beat-up relic that was a gift from his best friend (Mike Parker’s father) when they were kids.  While he searches for it all over campus, the body of another professor, Archer Coe (Alex Hyde-White), is found dead in his office.  At first, everyone believes he died of a heart attack, but Maxwell suspects foul play when he discovers the orange Coe ate was poisoned.
