Storyline When McBride sets out to solve the murder of an arrogant, manipulative host of a popular daytime TV show, he digs up a lot of dirt – and a lot of suspects. McBride steps in to defend a murder suspect who threatened the life of a popular daytime TV show host in front of millions of viewers shortly before the man is found brutally murdered. As he investigates the circumstances surrounding the killing, however, McBride discovers that almost no one is grieving the slain TV personality’s death – and that those closest to him each seem to have had a motive for the act. more
Synopsis When a retired counterfeiter is accused of spreading phony cash around town, former police detective-turned-attorney McBride (John Larroquette) deftly proves his innocence by establishing that the aging artist has merely found a new career making money to be used in a film production. Meanwhile, Marty Caine, host of a long-time hit television show that revels in scandal, introduces aspiring singer Tracy and her boyfriend Joe to his studio audience. As the young man kneels to propose marriage, Marty prods Tracy to reveal her affair with Joe’s best friend. Enraged at his humiliation, an enraged Joe screams out a death threat to Marty before being pulled from the stage. more
