The year is 1885.  We’re in a mountainous African forest with a hunting party led by Allan Quatermain (Patrick Swayze) and Bruce McNabb (Gavin Hood).  The two run hunting expeditions for men who want to come to Africa and shoot big game.  When Bitter (Robert Whitehead), the man who hired them, wants to kill female and baby elephants, Quatermain tries to stop him.  But McNabb holds a gun to Quatermain’s head and Bitter shoots the animals anyway.  Later that night, a wounded female elephant charges their camp and kills Bitter.   more
