Final Days of Planet Earth DOWNLOAD (pdf) CAST BIOS DARYL HANNAH (Elizabeth “Liz” Quinlan) - Daryl Hannah’s career has spanned more than 20 years. She has appeared in over 40 feature films including Ridley Scott’s cult classic “Blade Runner” starring Harrison Ford, “Splash” co-starring Tom Hanks and John Candy, “Roxanne” with Steve Martin, “Steel Magnolias” with Julia Roberts and Sally Field, “The Pope of Greenwich Village,” with Mickey Rourke, “Grumpy Old Men” and “Grumpier Old Men” with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon, “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” with Uma Thurman. Her most recent film is “Keeping Up with the Stein’s.” She has set a pattern of working with some of the most talented and accomplished directors of our time. Hannah has worked with Woody Allen, Neil Jordan, Fred Schepisi, Oliver Stone, Robert Altman, John Sayles and Quentin Tarantino to name a few. Hannah has become a strong supporter of independent cinema, both acting in and producing many films. She played a sad comic stripper in the fully improvised “Dancing at the Blue Iguana,” a hermaphrodite angel in “Northfolk,” and a women struggling with adoption in John Sayles’ “Casa de los Babies.” She reunited with John Sayles a year later for his political satire “Silver City,” co-starring Richard Dreyfuss and Chris Cooper. In 2001, Hannah made her stage debut in George Axelrods’ Seven Year Itch directed by Michael Radford at the Queens Theatre in London’s famed West End. Hannah wrote, directed and produced a 12-minute short, entitled “The Last Supper,” which received the Berlin International Film Festival’s Jury Award for Best Short. Hannah also directed, produced and shot the documentary “Strip Notes,” which aired on HBO. Though normally press shy, Hannah has become an outspoken advocate for Bio-Fuels and environmentally sustainable lifestyles. Her home has been off the grid for many years and she has been driving only clean-burning fuel vehicles. Her environmentally friendly choices have been featured nationally on shows from “The Tonight Show” to “CNN Headline News” and in print publications such as Architectural Digest and Vanity Fair. Hannah serves as a board member for the EMA (Environmental Media Association), ASEC (Action Sports Environmental Coalition), ECO America and has been honored with numerous Environmental and Humanitarian Awards. Hannah recently launched her sustainable living blog – www.dhlovelife.com. # # # GIL BELLOWS (Lloyd Walker) - Bellows translates his acting talents to all arenas of performance, including the stage, feature films and television. He is most recognized for his starring role in the Emmy® and Golden Globe Award winning series “Ally McBeal.” Bellows recently co-starred in “The Weatherman” opposite Nicolas Cage. He also has an upcoming starring role in the ten-part miniseries “Terminal City.”
The Canadian-born Bellows developed an interest in acting at 18 when he auditioned for and was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. After graduating, Bellows stayed in Los Angeles, where ironically he first found work in the National Film Board of Canada production of “The First Season.”
He gained attention among filmgoers and critics for his portrayal of an inmate with a penchant for knowledge in the critically lauded “Shawshank Redemption” opposite Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Shortly after, Bellows starred opposite Renee Zellweger in “Love and a .45” and with Sarah Jessica Parker in “Miami Rhapsody.” His additional film credits include “The Substance of Fire,” “Richard III,” directed by Al Pacino, “The Assistant” with Joan Plowright and Armin Mueller-Stahl, “Dinner at Fred’s” with Parker Posey, “Judas Kiss” with Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman, “Chasing Sleep” opposite Jeff Daniels and “Beautiful Joe” opposite Sharon Stone. Bellows has appeared in an off-Broadway production of A Snake in the Vein and in the Playwrights Horizon production of Flaubert’s Latest and Best of Schools. He is a founding member of the Seraphim Theater Company in New York for whom he starred in True West, Road, and The User’s Waltz. He was also a member of the Act One Repertory Company of the prestigious Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts. # # # CAMPBELL SCOTT (Commander William Phillips) – The son of renowned film and stage actors George C. Scott and Colleen Dewhurst, versatile actor, director, and producer Campbell Scott carries the family name with pride. Scott has amassed an impressive list of credits as an actor. Having studied acting with such teachers as Stella Adler and Geraldine Page, his first break came with the role of Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet in New England summer-stock theater. Scott earned a theatre degree from Lawrence University in Wisconsin. He understudied roles in the Broadway production of Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing, starring Jeremy Irons and later Nicol Williamson. Scott appeared on Broadway in such productions as Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, opposite Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst; Noel Coward’s Hay Fever, Thorton Wilder’s Ah! Wilderness and The Queen and the Rebels. Following his film debut in “From Hollywood to Deadwood,” Scott co-starred in the acclaimed drama “Longtime Companion.” He has amassed an impressive array of feature credits with renowned directors and co-stars. These include “The Sheltering Sky” for Bernardo Bertolucci, “Dead Again” for Kenneth Branagh, “Singles” for Cameron Crowe, “Dying Young” for Joel Schumacher opposite Julia Roberts, “The Innocent” for John Schlesinger, and “Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle” for Alan Rudolph, opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in the title role. For David Mamet, he co-starred opposite Steve Martin in “The Spanish Prisoner.” In the independent hit “Big Night,” Scott not only co-starred with Stanley Tucci, Tony Shalhoub and Isabella Rossellini, but he co-directed with Tucci, as well as co-produced the film. Other films where Scott shared the dual moniker of co-star and producer include “The Dying Gaul,” which is currently making the rounds of film festivals, as well as “Roger Dodger,” “The Secret Lives of Dentists” and “The Daytrippers.” For the features “Final” and “Off the Map,” Scott wore three hats as co-star, producer and director. Currently, film audiences are seeing him in “Music & Lyrics” starring with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. His other recent credits include “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” “Saint Ralph,” “Loverboy,” “Duma” and “Crashing.” Equally comfortable on the small screen, Scott is starring in the ABC series, “Six Degrees.” He has co-directed, co-produced and starred as the title character in “Hamlet,” which was produced by Robert Halmi, Jr. He appeared in another Halmi Jr. produced television movie, “The Tale of Sweeney Todd,” opposite Sir Ben Kingsley and Joanna Lumley. In the miniseries “The Kennedy’s of Massachusetts,” Scott starred as family patriarch Joe Kennedy. He co-starred opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh in two different Hallmark Hall of Fame productions, “Love Letters” and “Follow the Stars Home.” Other television roles include starring in the television movie, “The Pilot’s Wife,” based on the popular novel by Anita Shreve. The Vancouver based actress has performed in numerous film, television, radio, and stage roles. Television audiences know Mathew for her role as ‘Sara’ in the breakout hit ABC series, “Men in Trees.” She also starred as Dr. Sunita “Sunny” Ramen on the acclaimed and award winning Canadian dramatic series “Da Vinci’s Inquest.” An international hit, the series was also syndicated in the United States. Her many television credits include recurring roles on the Emmy Award® winning “The West Wing,” “The Dead Zone” and as Assistant District Attorney Cordelia Waring on “The Crow.” She has appeared on numerous other series, including “The X-Files” and “Stargate SG-1.” In the area of feature films, credits for Mathew include a starring role in the Sundance Festival hit “Touch of Pink,” directed by Ian Rashid.
