Desolation Canyon Five outlaws, led by ruthless Press Reynolds (Kenneth Johnson), ride into the late-1800s town of Green River to rob the bank. They get away with bags of cash, but there is a gun battle in which the teller is killed. Sheriff Tomas “Swede” Lundstrom (Patrick Duffy) hears the gunfire and snaps into action, exchanging shots with the robbers, killing one as he tries to flee on his horse. But the other four men, including one who has been wounded by Deputy Slim Moldin (Michael Patrick McGill), ride out of town with the loot. Swede prepares to head out after the men alone, neither expecting nor wanting a posse of townsfolk to join him in the manhunt. One of the robbers is well known to Green River residents. He’s Johnny Kendrick (Victor Browne), a young man who grew up in these parts before he went bad. In fact, the fleeing outlaws make one stop outside of town: They visit Johnny’s ex-wife Olivia (Kelly Overton) and his two young children and they take Johnny’s son, Abe. Press warns Olivia that if anybody comes after them, the boy will be killed. more |
