O’Grady also recently starred as Ava in the ABC comedy “Hot Properties.”  Prior to that, she starred as Helen Pryor in the critically acclaimed NBC series “American Dreams.”  O’Grady will also always be remembered as warm-hearted secretary Donna Abandando on the series “NYPD Blue,” for which she received three Emmy Award nominations in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series.  She has made guest appearances on some of television’s most acclaimed series, including “Cheers,” “Designing Women,” “Ally McBeal” and “China Beach.”

O’Grady has appeared in numerous television movies and miniseries, most recently starring in the Lifetime movies ‘While Children Sleep” and “Sex and the Single Mom,” which was so highly rated that it spawned a sequel, in which she also starred.  She received critical praise for her leading role as Lt. GREG GERMANN (Roger Nelson) – Greg Germann, the versatile star of the hit comedy, “Ally McBeal,” recently starred as Sherman Yablonsky on the ABC comedy “In Case of Emergency.” Germann also starred earlier this year at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles in the hit play “Speed the Plow” alongside Alicia Silverstone and Jon Tenney. “Speed the Plow” is a fast-paced satirical look at Hollywood executives and their monetary decisions in moviemaking profits over the art of cinema.

On the big screen, Germann most recently starred opposite Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron-Cohen in the comedy “Talladega Nights.”  He has also starred in “Friends With Money,” “Down to Earth,” “Sweet November,” “The Last Producer,” “Commited,” “Caught in the Act,” “Down and Derby,” “Once Around” and “Clear and Present Danger.”

Gremann has established his acting versatility in television as well.  He endeared viewers worldwide with his portrayal of the shark-like Richard Fish for several seasons on the hit series “Ally McBeal.”  He appeared with Kevin Spacey in the American Playhouse presentation of “Darrow,” opposite Samuel L. Jackson in Showtime’s “Conduct Unbecoming,” as well as recent appearances on “Bernie Mac,” “Listen Up” and “Twilight Zone.”

Born in Houston and raised on Lookout Mountain outside of Golden, Colorado, Germann was exposed to the performing arts at an early age, particularly through his father, an award-winning children’s playwright and theater professor.  As a theatre major at the University of Northern Colorado, a constant stream of plays led him to the gradual realization that acting would be his professional future.  Buckling down at UNC, he graduated in two years and moved to New York.

Germann became a member of Circle Repertory Company and Ensemble Studio Theatre, accumulating credits in such off-Broadway and Broadway plays as Steven Sondheim’s musical “Assassins,” “The Person I Once Was” opposite Holly Hunter and David Mamet’s “War Games,” among others.

In addition to acting, Germann also devotes himself to writing.  His short film, “Pete’s Garden” for which he also served as director and star, premiered in competition at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival and went on to air on The Sundance Channel in January 1999.  Germann also recently penned “The Observatory,” a play performed at New York’s Ensemble Studio Theatre, which The New York Times described as “full of fireworks.”
