Charles Durning’s appearance as Santa Claus in the Hallmark Channel Original holiday movie, “A Boyfriend for Christmas,” is the actor’s fifth movie in 15 years as jolly old St. Nick.

If he didn’t relish working so much, and if he didn’t love doing this particular role, he might express concerns about being typecast.  But Durning, a 1983 Oscar nominee for his performance in “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas,” says he has no complaints.   more

Shannon Wilcox, the mother of “The Practice”/“Medical Investigation” star Kelli Williams, is also an actress.  That makes the idea of mother-daughter casting an obvious one – or so it would seem.

“One time my agent put me up to play Kelli’s mom in something,” Wilcox recalls.  “I can’t remember what it was.  But I remember thinking, ‘If I don’t get this, I’m getting out of the business.  Because if I can’t play my own daughter’s mom, what can I play?’  more
