HALLMARK CHANNEL TO RECEIVE
2010 INTERNATIONAL FAMILY FILM FESTIVAL (IFFF) EXCELLENCE AWARD
Festival to Feature World Premiere Screening of “Meet My Mom,”
Hallmark Channel Original Movie Starring Lori Loughlin
The International Family Film Festival (IFFF) will honor Hallmark Channel with the 3rd annual IFFF Film Excellence Award for its “consistently high standards, production qualities and excellence of storytelling in the family genre of cinematic arts.” Accepting the award on behalf of Hallmark Channel will be Barbara Fisher, Senior Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. The presentation will be made during the festival’s awards ceremony on Sunday, March 14 at the Chaplin Theater at the Raleigh Studios in Hollywood.
IFFF promotes and encourages the development and production of family films and screenplays through the showcasing of selected works of excellence.
The Opening Night of The International Family Film Festival, Thursday, March 11, will feature a world premiere screening of the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Meet My Mom,” at 7:30 p.m. The movie stars Lori Loughlin, Stefanie Powers, and Charles Henry Wyson.
In the movie, recently divorced Dana Marshall (Loughlin) and her son, Jared (Wyson), move across the country to live with Dana’s mother (Powers) in California. Jared is nervous about attending a new school, but when his fourth-grade class is assigned to write letters to soldiers serving overseas, he unexpectedly finds a friend in Sergeant Vince Carrera. When Vince returns on leave and decides to pay a surprise visit to his 10-year-old pen-pal and Dana answers the door, it’s love at first sight, but neither of them are ready to admit it.
