HALLMARK CHANNEL TO PRESENT HOLIDAY COVERAGE
OF ONE OF AMERICA’S BIGGEST FAMILY EVENTS,
“THE 121st ROSE PARADE®,” JAN. 1
Network’s Extensive Presentation Includes “Countdown to the Rose Parade” Special and Commercial-Free Parade Coverage
Hallmark Channel, the nation’s premiere family entertainment network, will present coverage of the country’s most popular New Year’s Day event, “The 121st Rose Parade,” Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 (11:00 a.m.-1 p.m., ET/PT). The announcement was made today by Michelle Vicary, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and Scheduling, Hallmark Channel.
“At Hallmark Channel, we are focused on presenting the very best family and holiday programming,” said Vicary. “There is no finer example of both of those than the pageantry and tradition of the Rose Parade. Our presentation of the event is the perfect finale to our very special schedule of holiday television events planned from the week leading into Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.”
“The 121st Rose Parade,” hosted by Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards, originates in Pasadena, Calif., and will feature majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and spirited marching bands selected from among the best in the nation.
In addition to the parade coverage which will be presented commercial-free and then replayed in its entirety (Friday, Jan. 1, 1-4 p.m., ET/PT), Hallmark Channel will present the one-hour entertainment special, “Countdown to the Rose Parade,” Friday, Jan. 1 (10:00-11:00 a.m., ET/PT). The special, which captures the excitement of last-minute activity live from the Pasadena, Calif., parade site, will be hosted by the Emmy Award®-winning team from the “KTLA Morning News.”
